There are no words to explain how is like in Manica until one lives in the place and hang out with all these local champion. Schalk and I came to learn and support our old friend as they were opening their new five-a-side artificial turf soccer field. It is nice to see these things happening after many people sacrificing their time, money,,, make GDM to be where it is. And with time the local will reach that stage whereby they see the whole vision of GDM since it is built on strong foundation of great ethics, friendships, trust, hard work, humility, sacrifice, unity etc. One of my highlight of my stay was when the senior player went to hike the nearby mountain and reflect on the weaknesses and strengths in terms of their life skills.

It is being interesting being around Manica for only three days and Schalk, Nathan, Phil and I are leaving for SA tomorrow morning and is sad we are leaving prior to the massive game between Desportivo and Textafrica but unfortunately we didn't have a choice due to time constraints. It is nice waking up every 05h30am for soccer training and mostly finishing around 11h30am. Is just beautiful the players becoming coaches coaching juniors, girls or doing vegetable gardens etc. The like of Hardlife, Chibanga, Gabriel and Pingy becoming a senior team coach. I must say GDM is on its level in terms of development. And every afternoon the GDM staff, Arsenal coaches and Youthzones staff came together and made a team to play against Chibanga 's U/19. Is always beautiful to be in Moz and there is a new volunteer who travelled with us from SA by the name of Jan. I must say he is a very cool guy.
