Comment by doctor mabila on December 16, 2011 at 11:27am Upington youth came all the way to Jozi to receive their sporting equipment prior to their major tournament kick off which will be held in New Heaven Informal Settlement in Paballelo, Upington. Collin Matlapeng of Black Warriors was so excited in such a way that he said everything happening in Jozi will also one day happens in Upington in terms of the lifestyle, racial integration and also not have bucket system at the informal settlement. I said I admire and inspired the way they carry on with their lives under those conditions.

The second day of the coaching clinic was amazing and more rewarding. In the morning session I spent time with the local teams and the heroes in the community including new participating referees. We spent much time doing session on football basics, Speed and creativity. Where we theoretically and practically we did a session on speed since the game is fast today and soccer needs to be quick mental (Sharp intelligence) . We also worked/training session under speed we look at the physical speed which include stamina, fitness, running speed, resistance, agility, flexibility ball exercises, and mental speed we looked at the intelligence of the player in any situation, willingness life skills sessions, mental strength exercises and mental awareness and coordination and visualization football exercises. And then after lunch we ad about 30 children participating or volunteering as players to train which rescued the teachers who this time came prepared no more suits. We did a life skill sessions on team building, assisting each other and unity among the players and the teachers to their surprise we did a session on to set good example where they had to some exercises and demonstrations in front of the participating kids and do their best and set good example. After that I held a normal procedure of training with football and how to run a training and football/match. We did session on warming up physical and then with football and then prepare the kids mentally (arousal and visualization) for the game or training. I had a training session working on the technical basics and tactics of the young lads looking at the some of the drills were done earlier on in the morning. One thing with young lads you dont wanna stop training every second rather let it flow and coach and strong when is very urgent and needs serious attention. So you can imagine how much talking and coaching and running around I had to and while about 30n teachers looking and going to them explaining what I see and allowing them to contribute to the training if they see something wrong. I t all went great and we had a cool down after. And the young lads reflect on the training and what they learnt. And to my surprise Coach Ben asked me to coach second division team Paballelo Celtics after that.
Comment by doctor mabila on April 11, 2011 at 11:26pm 11/04/2011First day of the coaching clinic preparing the teams for the upcoming Dreamfields Primary league went very well. We started the day at 10am with the surprise and humbling visit of Mr Beukes Gerald, the head of sports in Department of Education in Upington and the presence of one of the highly respected coach, Ben (the head coach of Paballelo Celtics, vodacom team, who heard about my work in Upington and eventually became one of my new friends here in Upington. One of he highlights of the day was when one of the community team coming from Progress Squatter camp called Austin Villa popped in large numbers and said heard about this clinic and they want to learn. But overall all the teachers and the reps of the schools came and we had team building session and hearing from them what are they expecting and to my surprise everyone was just looking forward to learn and heard about what I do in Upington concerning fotball coaching. Very humbling and makes one human. We (the teachers, players and Gerald) discussed the issue surrounding the league like refereeing, transportation fees, fixture, league liason volunteers, the date when the league will commence, age restriction and cheating (we planned to have cards with photos since birth certificates which most of the young lads use dont have photos attached). And the above issues will be finalized in formal documentation by Wednesday including the budget. And after this it was time to go to the field and work since most of the session will be in practical form accompanied by the theoretical Success In Soccer coaching Manual and most of acquired coaching skills relevant for the young children 's development. As usual is very important for the kids to be having fun playing with good technical and tactical skills than intense training which I normally hold with the seniors. And also other thing I did is Friendship building and unity among the participants which resulted in the shock of their lives because we had to play small sided game of teachers (while wearing their ties and formal shoes) vs the players. No classroom format. We then had lunch at KFC together and continued with the session and activities of working on the issue of sustainability and empowering the young lads, boosting their confidence, team building ad positive motivation (to the young lads who are in a hyper curve of growth ) through coaching and as coaches not to be selfish rather everything is for the young lads and we should never allow our own egos destroy the passion of the young lads which is playing football......
