What a weekend we are coming from (from the 27th-29th of July) whereby we saw 45 youth from N'waritsi village/Rietfontein Village, Jane Furse site, visiting Johannesburg and Ayanda Mbatha from Umlazi visiting Jozi centre, Katlehong and Evaton North site. The Jane Furse youth consisted of ladies team (nebo stars FC), Boys U/17 and U/15. They played Swallows ladies team on Saturday and Wits ladies team and boys U/17 accompanying by Kadiela and Whizzi Booi. On saturday it was time to hang out and interact whereby we had a braai at the sleeping place which is Jozi centre. The youth (who are coming from the other side of the impoverished world) were extremely excited and happy, whistling and dancing, running around during the braai. The youth were taught computers and more responsibility since most of them will just throw a paper and don't do anything about it and we just stopped everything and explained of small skills. Interestingly enough they are not taught these rather WE are not taught these things from childhood. But once we are taught and realize the importance we tend to change and do it. The good news is one player from the ladies team by the name of Maphefo Madihlaba is now signed by Swallows FC. The youth definitely had the best time of their lives as I quote email from Emmanuel, the head coach : 'Hi Doctor
Thanks for helping us. Your welcoming and treatment to us (Nebo youth) was 100% and gave us encouragement. We learnt more things from you (youthzone). Our way fowards is 2 see our community (Nebo) youth active and being more responsible. Our soccer results are as follows: Moroka Swallows ladies 6 - Nebo Ladies 2. Boys under17 Nebo 4- Swallows 2.
