Since youthzones came into our township, I have been stop left, right and centre - and asked about this massive organisation that need to make change in our location. I tell them about the opportunities available in it and the responsibility they have to take to lift the community.

But there is this problem I have experienced since from young age about our people in Intabazwe, they expect a person who bring this things to them to wear suits and drive expensive cars or even speaks English like the real U.S. guys. He has to wear most expensive brands of clothes and bling-bling for them to be convinced that this guy is telling us the truth - WE HAVE BEEN BRAIN WASHED BY PEOPLE WHOM WE USED TO BELIEVE THEY CAN CHANGE OUR LIVES.

Then here come me, with an idea to uplift our community. I stay in the shacks where there is no electricity and no running water, I stand before team owners, whom I have played for their teams - some. I gave them the idea, and I showed them what benefits are in this projects; I even quoted from the Bible for them to see what God have brought to us to moved from poverty and suffering we have been through for some time. SOME HAVE SEEN WHAT YOUTHZONES CAN DO FOR THEM BUT SOME ARE STILL NOT INTO IT. So I asked myself - Is it me(no car, not good enough in English and no expensive brands and bling-bling and living in a shack); or are they undermining what God has brought to them to help them prosper and be better people in life?

Then the answer came through one of my colleagues who said - " I knew while we were still younger, playing football and you were always down to earth and when you spoke; you did so in a special way and please don't give up in what you are doing now because 1 day you will reap the fruits of your hard work" - Scott.

So I challenge myself of being a better leader and to be able to always say words that will change the minds of doubters - magic words. BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START, so I ask you fellow zoners to help me or give the recipe of being a better leader - BEACAUSE THERE ARE LOFTY GOALS WE NEED TO ACHIEVED AS INTABAZWE COMMUNITY BUT I CANT ACHIEVE THEM BY MYSELF WITHOUT BIENG HELPED TO.

I really want to make a difference in the people of Intabazwe - I WANNA BE A BETTER LEADER!
