Youthzones was started in 2009 by the Foundation for a Safe South Africa, to uplift youth in disadvantaged communities.
At its inception, Youthzones was aimed at using football as a mechanism to transform the spatial divide resulting from the legacy of Apartheid.
The main objective is to promote an empowering network where the youth grow and learn from each other.
Youthzones sites cover 5 sub projects namely
Sport & Arts
IT & Internet Connectivity
life-skills
Enterprise development
Peer Networking & Cultural Exchange
Each project is intended to be sustainable and grow organically whilst taking and inclusive approach
Since inception, we have empowered ~50 000 youth across ~50 sites
