How is it, my man.  I hope you are doing great and Vaal is treating you well. Firstly, I must say is very nice to see young people like you who goes around to assist and care about their community. First, how we work we start with specific group to learn and share the skills it can be football, life and computer skills. And the main thing is all this is to assist all of us to come together and feel at home/in a family and grow together and better our lives. So the guys who shared the skills go on and teach the others. We start with a small group and then once they feel they mastered all the skills they teach their fellows. We start with a smaller circle and it grows bigger and bigger. It takes time.  And is easy to get excited and lose focus and start teaching everywhere and nothing at the end of the day is done or cant followed up. We are your friends. Youthzones is not the brand, is all about you guys in the community what you want. Not about youthzones, registering member on the website is great for you guys because there are so many people reading the website and once they see big number they get interested about your community and they can easily visit and some can assist somehow and somewhere. My team and I are just your friends and middleman. So the specific focus at the moment is the Qedelizwe High School, and Arsenal team. With time as we grow to know each other we will see how far do the school and arsenal spread. And we dont go around and make promises and I hope non of the local guys like Papi are not going around spreading wrong news. keep doing good work and you will be making your own luck in life.

I am in Mopholosi Secondary School in Lakeside introducing Youthzones to the school but unfortunately i can't register any learners as they are a bit busy. I would like to make a plea to Doctor to provide some kind of identification for us to make it easy to aprouch schools and for ecceptance.
the computer lab is in good condition and a Lab coodinator is available for the learners. we just need to see the sporting facilities and the library but that will need my whole team. another appointment will be made with the school.

D

Day 2 of the ABI-CSI Work day at Evaton North in Qedilizwe took off with great enthusiam and optimism which turned out to be the order of the day! Spirits were high and excitement was everywhere from YZ, ABI and the school. Needless to say the gardening, netball court painting and library renovations went exceedly well. Everyone involved showed real commitment in executing their chosen tasks proving to be great examples for the students of Qedilizwe and surrounding community. I guess this is where it all boils down to, giving back to the community that taught us 'umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu'. Too often we forget where we come from, we think achievement is about driving our fancy cars and staying in well fenced and guarded apartments in some estates (snobbish accent). The harsh reality is that those are just nice to have but they do nothing for building a better next generation, REAL ACHIEVEMENT is knowing you have made a real impact in the lives of those in your forgotten communities. So here's to giving BACK to our communities especialy tomorrow being June 16 - Youth Day, celebrate it by showing love, kindness to someone you DON'T know.

Today, 14/June/2011, ABI visited Qedelizwe High School to work at the school, painting library and planting trees. We all had lunch and after we went to play netball: ABI vs Qedelizwe High school. And we also did two life skills on teamwork, communication and respect.  overall everything went well and Thanks to Masi for organizing everything.
