Momentum 94-7 Cycle Challenge - Great Experience!!!

In numerical or monetary terms, the number 30,000 is quite substantial. What with R30,000 or 30,000 bricks etc...? Yesterday, 'The General' (Sifiso Mtsi), (as I affectionately call him due to his massive influence in his community) and I, had a rare opportunity to see 30,000 cyclists...yes you read it well, 30,000 cyclists who were all taking part in the Momentum 94-7 Cycle Challenge!!! It was an exquisite experience for us both. Never in our lives had we ever came across such a number even in the stadia or anywhere! We also had two perfect life-skills prior to our arrival. The first one was finding our way to the venue!! Whilst we relied heavily on our GPS, it always led us to barricaded roads (due to the event of course). It took us a good 2 hours to get to our destination, which according to the GPS, was a mere 25 minutes away!!! Afterwards, you could guess, trying to find only two 'loved ones' out of 30,000!!!! Needless to explain further. It was great meeting Shaun O'Reilly and Francois van der Walt, friends to Alec Norton from Youthzones, who were cycling for Youthzones' cause!!! What great ambassadors we had in the two fine gentlemen. They took us around the whole place and had time to chat and eat with us despite evident effects of the close to 100km distance they had cycled. With all the challenges I have had in football, I think I have found new love in cycling!!! We really look forward to working with these gentlemen more in the near future. Thanks to Youthzones for everything!
