Inspiring and great place indeed(steelpoort Tukakgomo informal settlement) Xstrata Site

Firstly I would like to acknowledge the people rather the community of steelpoort from Diphorwaneng, Harane and RDP and the whole Tukakgomo for not being affected by situations they are facing instead they keep going. I witnessed that the state is not acting its part at the informal settlement of Tukakgome which people are still do not have running water and the road full of potholes where the vehicle struggles to go and some families have no electricity at this time of years. I'm very inspired by the people despite the challenges they still stands strong and I must say I witnessed kids who are very talented in tems of soccer and art not to forget that they are soo intelligent and school driven. In my visit at Tukakgomo Steelpoort I met many people with different characters, views, attitude and wealth. I was very inspired by kids who are much committed in terms of their studies and soccer that they managed to balance between the two and want to give credit to their mentors, coaches and father figure played by Mr Dube, Precious, Sithole and Samuel to mention few. These people really play a role in nurturing and uplifting the youth of Steelpoort together with Xstrata and Youthzones. I was fortunate to visit the place in order to help with computer skills, leadership, discipline, teamwork and coaching even though some I had to learn from them. You will get that should the youth not playing any games, the old men(old croch/masters) as they are called gather together to play against each other to entertain youth as also youth come togethr to spectate the event. It is very much inspiring to be able to experience such treatment from the people of steelpoort as a whole which they gave me that courage to visit which they asked me to because they where happy with my visit and what I did to their kids in terms of computer skills and soccer wise. I met this other old man playing soccer he is really good unfortunately he is mentally disable but I did had a chance to play with him and talk to him and encourage him to keep teaching the kids such soccer skills which he do them flawlessly. I was excited to visit the team which was playing at the time which again I managed to witness great football player where Samuel is their mentor and captain unfortunately they drew but it was a very entertaining match I must admit. I got a chance to play street soccer with the players of Dube and train with them we even trained situps which it was fun. The community of steelpoort really stood up to each other and they support their community teams in disguise like I observed it is a motivation to kids and young adults to keep playing and have love in playing soccer because people are coming to watch them so they will want to showcase their talent to impress the spectators which it works positively to empowering and uplifting youth. The Tukakgomo steelpoort community is not only about soccer but many talents where the kids are very good in playing drama and the are also girls are brilliant soccer players like Dineo and Tiny whom I managed to witness who again at the time when they play made me think about Lungile Mthethwa who if given a chance can motivate and encourage them so to keep on playing and believing one day they might play for a professional team like she is now playing for Sundowns girls.

It was an honour to be given an opportunity by Youthzones and Xstrata to visit Steelpoort in order to help with neccessary needs which it worked as they still call me and asked if I should vist more often in order to motivate teach computer skills and train them other soccer skills.

Thank u Youthzones and Xstrata
