21st March--Human Rights Day

Human rights are the rights that people simply have and are not granted by any state. These rights are inherent to all irrespective of any of the above statuses. Human rights range from right to life, right to food, right to education, right to health, etc. Human Rights Day reinforces our commitment to the Bill of Rights as enshrined in our Constitution and these rights include:

Equality – everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law.

Human dignity – Everyone has inherent dignity and has their dignity respected and protected.

Freedom of movement and residence – everyone has a right to freedom of movement and to reside anywhere in the country.

Language and culture – everyone have the right to use the language and to participate in the cultural life of their choice.

Life - everyone has the right to life.

Remember: ''We are one-True Ubuntu. We shall together win over anything. We all eat from the same pot. This is the time to change our ways and reshape by caring and loving each other more irrespective of the differences.
