It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Nkosi Lobi Sigenyevu. Our beloved friend and one of our coordinators in Cape Town.
Nkosi Lobi Sigenyevu was one of our long time friend who grew up from being just a normal township boy playing soccer to be a great husband, father and a striving enterpreneur in the transport industry.
''I am always inspired and smile with admiration to see this amazing champion and friend Nkosi Sigenyevu from the notorious Nomzamo Informal Settlement in the Cape, who grew from a normal unemployed soccer player/coach to becoming an amazing father, husband, community builder, businessman and a heroic librarian who is passionate about educating kids. This champion lost his father at a very young age and he was forced to look after his mom and two sisters at an early age. He became a great uncle and father to his kids and his sisters. He embraced everything that happened in his life, learnt from it and created his own legacy.
Well done Nkosi, you are a real deal and a role model to many''---Doc Mabila (written by Doc Mabila
He was one of the 5 who was featured in Doc's Documentary.
Ahh in Zulu we have a saying''Kufa awunamahloni'' ( death you have no shame)..personally I first met Nkosi through our trip to Manica, Mozambique in 2012. He was one of the most influential and outspoken individual who lights up the room with his craziness one of those guys who are so irritating but yet fun to be around.
In celebration of a life so beautifully lived. Your vibrant memory lives on in gentle spirit with the earth.
