EKN Youbuntu Human Rights Female Tournament, Eastern Cape

The project is a partnership between the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and Foundation for a Safe South Africa (FSSA).
Youbuntu is a combination of the words Youth & Ubuntu referring to the African philosophy of shared humanity .
Youbuntu is a programme on it's own.
Young people in townships can only access their basic human rights if they have confidence, believe in themselves and grow the capacities to success in society.
Our focus is socio-economic with the four main objectives (and linked activities) being:
♦ to promote social inclusion of girls through sport participation
♦ to ensure the right to internet access to vulnerable youths
♦ to promote social cohesion and cross-cultural skills
♦ to improve entrepreneurship among township youth
The work Youthzones does, taking youth at risk, steering them away from harmful choices, turning them into role-models and change agents, is heroic work.
