The training was held at chief Phasha hall. The training was more interactive and I was just basically a facilitator. I shared with them about importance of life beyond football for all the youth. They were trained on basic IT literacy on EDANAS program and basic secret life skills for success using Glencore Life skills Manual designed by youthzones which included issues affecting the youth in the areas e.g.. superstitions, Unity, communication, teamwork, respect, Problem solving, jealous, witchcraft beliefs, conflict resolution, laziness, complaining, begging, chieftainship differences and conflict, how football play major role in life decision makings. All these Life skills exercises were done in the form of practical games involving the coaches.

My highlight of the day was when I made a small exercise of sharing and unselfishness. Our philosophy we encourage all the youth not to beg and to earn everything they have. I took R50 note and I asked all the coaches who needs the R50, everyone did want it except Thabang of Stone Breakers FC who said he doesn’t want it. And I asked him why? He said “I don’t deserve it and I didn’t earn it. And if you want to give to me I would rather share with all the coaches here today because they deserve it for sacrificing to come here and learn for the best of their players”. What a leader. He then won pair of soccer boots.

Every coach left with Puma ball, 8GB Usb containing our programmes/curricula on IT, Life skills, football, Exchange and Enterprise Development. And we quickly went through them.

We trained with the Silver Stars Fc In Embelenhle informal settlement and after training what was fascinating was that the kids didn’t have senior leader and they were appreciating. At the end of the training they came to us and said ‘thank you for training with us’. These were just juniors.

Just giving your time from one 's busy schedule, share skills, play sports and respecting the poor and encouraging them is all one needs to have dignity and sense of worth. The standard bank staff yesterday eating together with youth, hanging out in the homes of the youth is all the youth needed to have pride, valued and hopeful. They were remarkable and down to earth, especially some of the kids where embarrassed when they wanted to use their bathrooms in the shacks, but the standard bank crew were always making sure they don't feel bad. They taught the kids how the card system works and they open the bank accounts for the youth. Having a bank card in the squatter camp is a coolest thing since most of them are scared to go the bank itself. Thanks Martha, Cindy, Thoko, Mandisa and Linda. They are doing all this as their own initiative and moral boosting move to show that life can be transformed through sport, life skills, IT and Enterprise Development and sharing hence Xstrata league was more than about football but also involved the above mentioned activities. The ceremony was definitely not be to show off, not of very high quality but it was pride driven, authentic and coming from the people of the community who could have been at the other side of life.
Correctional Service deputy commissioner visit Kameeldrifttag:www.youthzones.co.za,2014-08-19:4965298:BlogPost:1356472014-08-19T07:30:00.000Zdoctor mabilahttp://www.youthzones.co.za/profile/doctormabila

I will be back here Doc. I am going to get some of the delegates from nearby correctional service and attend some of the issues here.
The kids are taught to pick every paper on the ground and never beg and thats a rule at the school. And this is happening because of leadership skills of principal Ronnie Ferreira. She is an amazing person with good heart and cares about everyone irrespective of race.

These are people who are needed to be part and parcel to build our beautiful country. Her story need to be shared nationwide not junk we read on newspapers. We played a fun soccer game, literally with all the school children. It was fun but the kids were just amazing including the girls. And how they respected us during the game, they called us oom. Simple things like respecting, picking up the papers, not begging etc is still something in my head which I am thinking how many of us don't have that in our heads.
Glencore Xstrata Website Competitiontag:www.youthzones.co.za,2014-04-11:4965298:BlogPost:1249882014-04-11T09:52:29.000Zdoctor mabilahttp://www.youthzones.co.za/profile/doctormabila

Many lessons were learnt from the hike of which all of them were related to the daily lives of these leaders in their respective communities. Typical examples of lessons learnt varied from teamwork, communication, never complain, appreciating etc. It was the first time the group hanged out together and it was like they have been together for ages. They also stayed together in Doctor's house for the night before they then visited each other 's communities as part of an ethnic exchange and sharing. The whole experience felt just like a big family being together. Other highlight was seeing Sanele from Umlazi and Obakeng from Upington visiting Kameeldrift and Mamelodi and hang out with their friends; learning from each other. South Africa and the world can be a better place through such small things- interacting and spending time together.

And she said we are the only guys who are clean when it comes to development work. The foundation doesn't generate income but gives everything back to the poor and have been doing a lot behind the scene. One example they do matric tutoring for 350 student every weekend. They were accompanied by Schalk, Super Tom and his two lovely kids and myself. It was so amazing their first time to visit informal settlement seeing the real life in SA. The Brazillians group were just amazing and have great attitude, friendly and when they arrived there they just fitted along. David and Manga also went to use Cryil 's bathroom when they arrive and they didnt complain or look for nearby filling station. Schalk gathered them and briefed them in Portuguese about the place. And then we did an ice breaker of whispering zulu sentence from one person to the other. That was a cracker, worse the Brazillians couldnt even speak proper english and now zulu in their ears. It was fun and then we played football and divided team into two and one team had to take off their shirts and the Brazilllians were the first one to take off their shirts. Amazing! You could see the youth how they loved it in their happy faces. David who used to play pro football in Brazillians showed everyone how good are Brazillians. And we then had a braai whereby every one including the kids, who were more than 130, receive a sausage roll. It was good vibe. And after the senior team sat down in a circle with the Brazillians and we started sharing and asking each other question. One of the amazing questions came from Joao from Brazil asked how do they feel staying in the informal settlement in one word. Some said sad and others say is privilege since it will taught them how to be humble or motivate other when they become rich. Others brought the issue of nyaope is destroying the future of SA and we shared about life in Brazil. Tom's kids also will be at the level of their own especially going to informal settlement and play with the kids and is definitely will be something of good impact in along run. At the end of the day, Brazillians and SA youth were just the same and experiencing the issues and successes in their respective countries. The Brazillians were Sergio Nunes de Assis
,Eduardo Pedreira Jal Fernandez, Alex Rangel, Lael Cantara, Davi P Botelho, Manga,Edson Duque.
The beauty of networking at its besttag:www.youthzones.co.za,2013-10-07:4965298:BlogPost:1180092013-10-07T09:00:00.000Zdoctor mabilahttp://www.youthzones.co.za/profile/doctormabila

As I arrived, not seeing the Tarlton lads, I just heard someone shouting 'Doc, I knew you work here because of the soccer balls they are using here' and as I look that was Dikgang, the councillor and Coach of Drift Acess in Tarlton. Funny enough a month ago I attended hard meeting whereby the council is playing funny games and the community including the soccer players were not happy about how he does things and how he destroyed the wall used to block the cars from entering the field which was made players etc. And the coolest councillor Dikgang was in the same place and the highlight of the day was when Dikgang shared with all the players how he does things in his community. There was a sense of family joy and happiness. And everyone had fun. Youth always do what we call sharing, networking, impacting each in a good or bad way. They are unaware when they do it
It takes time to changetag:www.youthzones.co.za,2013-09-16:4965298:BlogPost:1170062013-09-16T13:00:00.000Zdoctor mabilahttp://www.youthzones.co.za/profile/doctormabila

As much it take ages for myself or anyone of us to change (irrespective of the opportunities or environment surrounding us), we should expect the same will apply to others we interact with daily or we work with. Classic example isMushini who took literally three years to start knowing how to use internet not forgetting he is the great guy and coach. He has been taught so many times. Funny enough he started using the laptop and using internet after it was hit by the ball during training. Inspiration takes self-reflection, freedom and motivation to be revealed.
